Story Something Launches Public Beta Just In Time To Share For the Holidays

Story Something Gives Parents and Children a New Choose Your Own Adventure As a Holiday Gift

San Francisco, CA (December 22, 2009) – Story Something Inc., announced today the beta launch of www.storysomething.com, a mobile and Web platform enabling the creation of interactive children’s stories. Story Something enables busy parents to create personalized stories for children built specifically around a child’s name, interests, friends, and age, putting their children at the center of the narrative.

Parents come to Story Something through any Web-enabled PC or device, enter some basic information about their child (first name, age, interests) and a wonderful, high quality personalized story is crafted for them in seconds. Stories can be read and enjoyed on the spot or scheduled for delivery to parents via email at the time and frequency of their choosing, including just before bedtime. Story Something editors hand pick original stories that are customized for children ages 3-8.

Just in time for the holidays, Story Something is launching with a new choose-your-own-adventure winter story, "A Puzzling Winter Adventure" by Rosalie Silvers.   After weeks of holiday offers and emails, Story Something hopes to gives parents a respite from their inbox.

"Story Something makes it easy for kids to be delighted by the creativity and personalization of the unique fairy tales and stories told by their parents," said Jim Rose, CEO and co-founder of Story Something. “We all know that reading to our children is critical to their development, and now through Story Something, parents everywhere now have access to wonderful, personalized children's stories that can be read, shared and enjoyed at any place and any time, especially bedtime."

Over $3.5 billion worth of children’s books were sold in the United States last year. Parents and other users are increasingly reading stories and consuming content through technology devices like the Apple iPhone and Amazon Kindle. Publishers and authors are taking advantage of this trend by making their stories digital and accessible to all. Now, for the first time, professional and aspiring authors can reach and connect with their younger audience directly through the Story Something Author Center. Authors can upload and share their stories with parents and other authors alike on the Story Something site.
